The Royal Rumble is a little over three weeks away and we now have odds on the Women’s Royal Rumble at BetOnline.
This year feels pretty wide open and the odds reflect that. While the current Men’s Royal Rumble favorite, Daniel Bryan is +450, the odds for the favorite in the Women’s Royal Rumble are much higher. The current favorite is Bianca Belair at +450. That’s a pretty high number and you can still be pretty profitable just betting on the favorite. The favorite did not win in 2020 or 2019. The 2019 Rumble had Charlotte Flair as the favorite, but Becky Lynch ended up getting the win at +120. This was a tough year because Becky wasn’t officially announced as being in the match despite the fact that everyone knew she would win. So I’d put a big asterisk there.
The 2020 Rumble was a true upset though, much like the Men’s Rumble. Shayna Baszler was a big -250 favorite, but Charlotte Flair ended up getting the win at +500. This was definitely an example of the type of mind-changing that goes on in WWE these days. Everyone knew Baszler was going to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania and her winning made a ton of sense coming off her dominant NXT run, but an old man changed his mind so an upset won.
So while Bianca Belair is a favorite, that is not something I would count on. It seems like they love “names” and while Belair has all the potential in the world, she doesn’t have the name that we often see in this match. There is one person that does have that name though and I have already put some money down on her, despite having no indication that person is going to be ready.
I’m talking about Becky Lynch at +900. Did she just have a baby? Yes, and that does make the timeline a bit sketchy, but if she can do it then I believe WWE will do it. I’m not going to get into talking about how she might recover from pregnancy or anything like that because that would be weird. I’ll just say that Becky recently changed her twitter profile to say “Time to go to work” and you know this company would love to have her back for WrestleMania. Plus, this is the Rumble too so it’s not like she would even need to take bumps. Draw #30, throw everyone out, leave. At +900, I’ll take that risk.
If she doesn’t end up in, it’s hard to discount Charlotte or Bayley. They have the names and you know that one, if not both, will be in a big women’s match at WrestleMania. Charlotte vs. Asuka and Bayley vs. Sasha Banks are two easy directions they can go and big matches.
