WWE Royal Rumble takes place this Saturday in St. Louis, Missouri. This event is always the most anticipated WWE event of the year as the Royal Rumble always manages to draw even the most casual of viewers.
It truly is the one time per year where anything can happen. We saw this last year with Edge being a big upset +600 winner, in 2020 with Drew McIntyre’s win at +500, and again in 2020 with Charlotte as a +500 winner. Plans change and the Royal Rumble match itself is always pretty wide open.
The favorites in this year’s match are two people who aren’t even guaranteed to be in the matches.
Brock Lesnar is in a WWE title match on the show, but the idea of him vs. Roman at WrestleMania is so strong that people are looking at him to win it. Reigns himself is not far behind at +800.
While the Women’s Royal Rumble favorite is Ronda Rousey who has not been in WWE since 2019. A more natural bet based on what has been going on in the company is Bianca Belair repeating as winner at +300.
There are also title matches on the card. Lesnar and Reigns are both favorites, but not as large as you’d expect given their status. Again, this is based on the idea of one of them costing the other and building towards that match down the road. If I had to pick one to upset, I’d go with Lashley at +160. Reigns title reign is just too long at this point for it to end with Rollins.
Edge & Beth Phoenix are big favorites over The Miz & Maryse which seems like a great betting opportunity. Always bet on The Miz has proven to be a successful strategy over the years and at +300, it’s worth trying once again.
Finally, Becky Lynch defends her title against Doudrop. This match is not even really worth getting into as the chances of an upset are so slim. Lynch is a -1200 favorite.
