WWE NXT TakeOver 31 Betting Odds

NXT TakeOver 31 takes place on October 4th, 2020 from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. This will be the first show since Finn Balor won the NXT Championship after the injury to Karrion Kross. Balor will defend his title against Kyle O’Reilly here who earned his title shot by winning the Gauntlet Eliminator match on the September 23rd edition of NXT TV.

The show is also being headlined by Io Shirai defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Candice LeRae. These two have a ton of history and have had some of the best matches in NXT against each other. The roles are reversed here with Candice playing a heel and trying to become a champion on the same night as her husband, Johnny Gargano.

Gargano will face Damian Priest for the NXT North American Championship. Candice and Johnny are both underdogs on this night, but I’d be surprised if at least one of them didn’t end up winning.

The show will feature Kushida taking on Velveteen Dream for some reason.

There will also be an NXT World Tag Team Championship match with Tyler Breeze and Fandango defending their championships.

Complete odds for NXT TakeOver 31 are below.

WWE NXT TakeOver 31 Betting Odds:

  • Velveteen Dream (-190) vs. Kushida (+134)
  • Io Shirai (-295) vs. Candice LeRae (+200)
  • Damian Priest (-200) vs. Johnny Gargano (+140)
  • Finn Balor (-770) vs. Kyle O’Reilly (+400)

This is a great show if you like to bet underdogs.

Kushida should absolutely win this match as there is really no reason for Velveteen Dream to be on television with all of his accusations and personal issues. This will be Kushida’s first appearance on an NXT TakeOver and a win would help to set him up nicely for a match down the line with Finn Balor.

I feel like I’ve been predicting Io Shirai to drop the title and move up to the main roster for months now, but this one especially feels like a good spot for it to happen. Candice winning would put a nice ending on Io’s run here and finally elevate Candice to that spot that everyone knows she belongs in. There is a ton of good stuff to be done with Candice as champion and its past the point for NXT to pull the trigger on it. Io needs to get to the main roster before she turns into the female version of Gargano.

If Candice wins, I could see Johnny winning too, but the more fun story might be her winning and him losing. Damian Priest has been getting built up as a badass for awhile now and there is no reason to pump the brakes on that. Honestly, the NXT and North American titles have been moving around way too much of late and it would be nice to see Priest get a nice long reign. We’ve all had enough Johnny.

Finn Balor is a huge favorite as it seems like he will keep the title until Karrion Kross can return. This match should be absolutely fantastic though and I could see a finish where Adam Cole/The Undisputed Era cost O’Reilly in this match.
