WWE Smackdown on Fox Premiere Betting Odds

The long awaited debut on Fox television for the WWE is tonight as SmackDown makes it’s debut. This is a huge show for WWE as they are on network television in a weekly slot for the first time in their history. This show has been really built up through advertising and there are a ton of big names on the show to get people interested. This is a real all hands on deck situation and WWE really needs to come out strong here. It should be a great night for wrestling.

The night is so big that BetOnline.Ag even released some betting odds for the event. There are four announced matches and they all have odds on them. There is also an appearance by The Rock planned which has made for some pretty interesting prop bets as well.

Let’s take a look at the betting odds for the debut of Friday Night Smackdown on Fox.

WWE Smackdown on Fox Betting Odds:

  • Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair (-145) vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley (+105)
  • Kevin Owens (-300) vs. Shane McMahon (+200)
  • Brock Lesnar (-250) vs. Kofi Kingston (+170)
  • Roman Reigns (-200) vs. Erick Rowan (+150)
  • Will The Rock Announce a Future Match For Himself? Yes (+200) or No (-300)
  • Will The Rock Give Someone a Rock Bottom? Yes (+120) or No (-160)
  • Will The Rock Give The People’s Elbow? Yes (-200) vs. No (+150)

The betting odds make it pretty clear that Shane McMahon’s career in WWE is ending tonight. That seems like the right answer and the obvious one, but that isn’t always the case when it comes to Shane McMahon. He’s won a lot of stuff that he shouldn’t in recent WWE history so you have to wonder. I wouldn’t bet on Shane, but I don’t feel fully comfortable betting against him either.

The same can be said for Kofi Kingston. It definitely feels like his time is up and Brock Lesnar getting another title reign feels like a lock. The only thing that is holding me back is that this is the debut on Fox. You know we are going to see some surprises and there are a ton of names out there that make sense. CM Punk, Edge, Cain Velasquez. Couldn’t you just see one of these guys coming in and costing Brock the title? The odds just aren’t there for me on this one.

One match I feel reasonably good about is Sasha Banks and Bayley against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. There is a big match coming up at Hell in a Cell between Sasha and Becky, and this match is a perfect opportunity for Sasha to get a win and get some heat on that match. It seems silly for Charlotte and Becky to win here, especially considering their history.

The most interesting bets are the ones involving The Rock. Here’s how I see it going down. A future match? lol, yeah right. A Rock Bottom? Definitely. The People’s Elbow? No.

This isn’t really based on specific knowledge or anything, but you have to figure that The Rock is in the midst of making a movie right now and therefore the insurance on him would not allow him to take any real bumps in the ring. I’d say that, technically, giving some a Rock Bottom is not a bump while the People’s Elbow could be considered one. If I remember correctly, he did the Rock Bottom but not the People’s Elbow at Wrestlemania 32 in a similar situation.
